How it works
E-commerce combines product information, ordering, payment and fulfilment into one customer journey. The storefront is only one part. Stock, delivery options, transaction status and customer communication need to agree across the systems involved.
A realistic example
A shop may show an available item but fail to reserve it when two customers check out. Another may take a payment yet omit the order confirmation after a callback failure. Test these states, not only the attractive product page.
What to check
Check product accuracy, cart totals, delivery details, supported payment states and confirmation messages. Test mobile and keyboard checkout with the payment provider’s test mode. Verify that retries do not create duplicate orders or disclose another customer’s information.
Limits and next steps
A successful design preview does not prove that real payments and fulfilment work. Business, tax and legal terms require confirmed operation-specific information. Do not send live test orders or payments without authorisation; use appropriate test environments.
