Tell us the symptom. We find the cause, explain the options and agree the price before any repair. What is your computer doing? Often a nearly full drive, too many startup programs, an ageing hard disk or too little memory. We check first: Drive health and free space, startup programs and background load, memory use during your normal work, signs of unwanted software. The charger, power supply, memory, storage or a failed update can stop a computer starting. We check first: Charger, battery or power supply, whether the BIOS screen appears, whether the storage is detected, recent updates or changes. Drivers, failing memory or storage, heat or damaged system files. We check first: Crash logs and stop codes, memory and storage tests, temperatures under load, driver and update history. Dust, dried thermal paste, blocked vents or a failing fan. We check first: Temperatures at rest and under load, fan speed and airflow, dust in vents and heatsink, thermal paste condition. Pop-ups, malware or a scam call Unwanted software, browser changes or an attempted support scam. We check first: Installed programs and browser extensions, startup items and scheduled tasks, security tools and updates, accounts that need new passwords. Broken screen, battery or port Physical faults with physical repairs. We check first: Exact model and part availability, battery health and charging circuit, port and connector condition, hidden damage elsewhere. Clicking, freezing while saving or a disk warning can mean a failing drive. We check first: Drive health (SMART) readings, read errors and slow areas, your current backups, file-system errors. Deleted files or an unrecognised drive do not always mean the data is gone. We check first: Whether the drive is still detected, what happened, and when, which files matter most, whether a specialist lab is needed. An older computer can feel new again, but not every machine is worth upgrading. We check first: Upgrade options for your exact model, what slows you down today, Windows 11 and software compatibility, cost compared with replacing. Not sure? Let’s narrow it down. Answer two questions, see what we would check first, then send it to us. The repair is quoted and agreed before work begins. Can it connect to the internet?… Evidence first. Then options. Do you repair Mac and Windows laptops?
Yes. We work on Windows and Mac laptops and desktops, plus most all-in-ones.
Do I need to book, or can I just drop by?
Send a message first so we can discuss a suitable appointment and any parts needed.
What should I tell you before a diagnosis?
Which device you use, what changed and any message on screen. A photo of the error helps. Please leave out passwords and recovery keys.
What if the fault only happens sometimes?
Note when it happens, which app is open and whether the device is charging. Intermittent problems may need more than one check.
Can you come to me?
Drop it off, or tell us where you are in the Marina Alta and we suggest the most practical way to look at it.See the service area.
How do I decide whether repair is worthwhile?
Weigh the diagnosis, the repair cost, the device's condition and what you need it to do. We explain the options clearly before you agree to any work or parts.
Should I back up my files before repair?
If the computer still works, it is great to copy your important files to a separate drive or your usual backup first. If it will not start, just tell us which files matter most before anyone resets, reinstalls or replaces storage.
